Private Chef

Family of six (2 adults and 4 children, ages 6 - 13) is seeking a private chef to work full-time in their West Village home.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years in-home private chef experience (working with families of young children is a plus!)

  • Certificate from ACFFAC (American Culinary Federation Foundation Accrediting Commission) accredited culinary school

  • Well-versed in gluten-free, low-glycemic, and paleo diets

  • Flexibility, discretion, and kid-friendliness are a must!

  • Passion for fueling an active family with seasonal, organic, and minimally processed food

Responsibilities:

  • Shop for perishable and non-perishable food and kitchen supplies, including specialty and holiday items as requested

  • Create weekly menu

  • Prepare and serve weekday lunch and dinner (plated, family style) *Note: Friday dinner often includes guests and/or extended family

  • Prepare weekday breakfasts and leave for the next day

  • Prepare snacks and weekend staples

  • Maintain clean and organized kitchen

  • Communicate with other household staff, including full-time nanny and house manager, to ensure meals are aligned with family’s dynamic schedule and dietary needs

Additional:

  • Hours: Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm (includes grocery shopping) with flexibility as needed

  • Salary: Competitive and DOE

  • Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation

  • Medical and dental insurance after 90 days of employment

  • Candidates must be able to work legally in the United States, pass a background check, and provide references
