Private Chef

Private Upper West Side family seeks professional and creative Private Chef to oversee all culinary needs of the family out of their primary residence. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday work schedule with flexibility and willingness to work additional days and weekends. This position will require preparing and serving dinners in a timely manner 5 nights per week --- plus food preparation for some lunches (soups and salads) in advance. The ideal candidate will have a background in preparing healthy, seasonal, farm-to-table style meals with an emphasis on creativity; with the ability to prepare meals from a wide variety of cuisines. We eat mostly paleo but have two teenage boys who like their carbs. The ideal candidate will be extremely neat with the ability to clean the kitchen efficiently after each meal.

Job requires: Creating menus with a strong emphasis on fresh seasonal, and healthy cuisine on a weekly basis.

Responsible for

  • Grocery shopping;

  • Organizing and maintaining kitchen;

  • Ensuring pantry is stocked;

  • Managing food for any and all private events (we do a Friday night shabbat dinner each week);

  • Additional general Private Chef duties upon request.

Requirements: Strong command of English language; PREFERRED Minimum 4 years related experience working in a private home PLUS Excellent references required from both current and previous employers. Ability to fully manage kitchen cleaning, stocking, serving, maintenance, etc.

Strong fresh, seasonal, and health-conscious cooking skills; MUST have positive, pleasant, and team-player attitude; strong service-oriented mindset; Flexibility in scheduling; willingness to work longer hours and overtime as needed; Legally able to work within the United States

Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 per year; possible discretionary, performance based annual bonus. All salary offers are Depending On Experience, References, and the results of Federal Background Check.
