Position Summary:
Health-conscious private principal based in Sun Valley, ID with multiple residences is looking to hire an experienced culinary professional with a service heart who is hungry to learn and eager to develop their skills. This candidate would work hand in hand with the Executive Chef to prepare daily nutritious meals within set dietary parameters and be able to travel to additional residences as needed.
Responsibilities:
The principal would like a Sous Chef who can assist in preparing daily meals for himself and higher-level cooking for small dinner parties and occasional guests. The principal prefers daily meals that are gluten, dairy, and sugar free, and which fall within a strict caloric range, to include breakfast and an early dinner. Provisioning and menu planning will be done with the Executive Chef along with maintaining clean and organized kitchens.
Qualifications:
• ServSafe certification is required or willingness to obtain.
• Background in nutrition is a plus.
• Candidate must be familiar with a wide range of cuisines and be comfortable preparing meals according to various dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Knowledge of serving styles, place settings, and protocols.
• Ability to travel 1+ weeks per month to the principal’s other residences in Miami, FL and Los Angeles, CA.
Schedule:
Generally, five days a week, two daily meals with an early start and finish. Must have flexibility to work a varied schedule; the Sous Chef will work holidays and be readily available for all working days in-season from November through April.
Compensation:
$90,000 to $105,000 offered, depending on experience and qualifications, with benefits that include a car allowance, gear/uniform allowance, health insurance contribution, and paid time off.
