Manager, Ice Cream Production and Logistics

As Manager for ice cream production and logistics, you will be responsible for planning and managing 100% of our ice cream production, including weekly and monthly planning. You are supported by a team of production assistants; size of the team fluctuates depending on production volume at that time of year.

Key tasks:

  • Manage inventory for ingredients, packaging/labelling, and ice cream, to be reported to and coordinated with co-owner to ensure sufficient supplies on hand (Bob Clark).

  • Ensure food safety practices already in place are followed and develop new food safety practices as we grow, and ensure that anyone stepping into the production area knows and follows the rules.

  • Develop and refine flavors, including on-going standardization of recipes, working with co-owner (Bob Clark) to solidify recipe and safety of final product.

  • Oversee fulfilment of weekly mail order ice cream orders (again, there are staff to help with the actual fulfilment, but since we are a small team, everyone pitches in!).

  • Manage quality control and system for tracking each batch of ice cream.

  • Contribute to marketing plan and messaging and, when time permits, marketing implementation.

  • Coordinate with events team to ensure that sufficient ice cream and the right flavors are available for events.
