We're looking for someone to join our team as a Cafe Executive Sous Chef who:

The Executive Sous Chef is responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of food in the Cafe and assisting the Executive Chef in overseeing other operations of the business; catering, teaching kitchen, and pantries. The Executive Sous Chef will make sure that the kitchen is a well-oiled machine, by leading the preparation of food, managing the kitchen staff and making sure that the food is prepared deliciously and quickly as possible, while managing all food safety standards.

Essential Functions:

Assists Executive Chef in hiring, scheduling, training, and management of the kitchen and kitchen associates and maintains training levels through reviews and continued support. Assists Executive Chef in menu development, product procurement and inventory processes.

Supervises the department's kitchen staff. Leads the kitchen team in prep, cooking, garnishing, sanitation and meeting all regulatory requirements 100% of the time. Foods will be batch cooked to present the freshest product possible. Ensures that all food served is palatable, seasoned properly and visually appealing and ensures food is served at proper temperature and at scheduled times.

Ensures that all leftovers are properly stored in containers, dated, and used within 24 hours and records food temperatures at each meal.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Culinary Arts diploma: Preferred

Nutrition and Dietary certification/training:Preferred

Servsafe certified: Required

Work Experience:

Five years related experience: Preferred

Three years leadership experience: Preferred
