Private Chef

Private New York City family seeks an experienced, energetic, and positive full-time Private Chef in New York City and Long Island home, as well as summers in the Hamptons. Position is live-out when in NYC and will be live-in while family is on Long Island. The Private Chef should be team oriented, work well with children of all ages, and possess a “can do” attitude. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with vegan, vegetarian, Italian, and Mediterranean cuisine while being able to prepare other and more general comfort foods as needed for meals and events.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Procuring the highest quality ingredients that are locally sourced, organic, and minimally processed
Coordinating creative and delicious meals for the family and 4 children
Inventory and stocking pantries and wine cellar
Managing food production private events
Sanitizing and cleaning the kitchen after each session
Managing kitchen operations in secondary residences; traveling to residences with Principal
Additional general Private Chef duties upon request
Requirements:
Strong command of English language; superior communication skills, both written and verbal
Minimum 3 – 5 + years related experience working in a private residence as a Private Chef
Culinary Arts degree from an accredited school preferred
High-end restaurant experience is a plus
Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
Ability to fully manage kitchen cleaning, stocking, serving, maintenance, etc.
Strong fresh, seasonal and farm-to-table cooking skills
Polished, poised, and professional in both mindset and manor; use of utmost discretion
Comfortable working as part of a team, has a “can-do,” above and beyond attitude
Ability to replicate any dish
Wine knowledge and wine pairing ability a strong plus but not required
Exceptional hygiene and knowledge of food safety procedures
Attention to detail and a meticulous cleanliness; exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities
MUST have positive, pleasant, and team-player attitude; strong service-oriented mindset
Willing to travel between NY residences, live-in on weekends if necessary and during Hamptons in the summer
COVID vaccinated
Valid Driver’s license; willing and able to drive, car not required
Legally able to work in the United States
Salary: $150k-$200k
