Prep Cook

We are a food service business looking for a reliable and skilled prep cook to help us with all the preparations of the food items. We want someone with experience and who is passionate about food. You will be working with our inhouse chef to cook a plant based menu. No plant based experience needed.
The prep cook is responsible for providing a supportive role in the kitchen and to our chef.
Its responsibilities include chopping vegetables, breaking down, weighing and mixing ingredients, washing and preparing vegetables, storing food, and other duties.
Responsibilities:
Completing all tasks, in order, assigned by the chef
Organizing all ingredients in an accessible manner
Washing, chopping and sorting ingredients
Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients
Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash and sanitizing kitchen
Adhering to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards
Keeping track of ingredient inventory and informing the chef to order resupply
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Prep Cook in a full-service kitchen or food service environment
Strong work ethic, team player, and customer-focused approach
Strong knife skills and food handling experience
Working knowledge and understanding of health, safety, and sanitation standards
Ability to follow and execute recipes to designated specifications
Ability to take direction
Ability to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner.
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
Aptitude to resolve problems
Polished presentation
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to perform physical requirements of the role including standing/walking for the entirety of shift, bending, pulling, pushing, lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds.
